Inspired to Give

Nationwide Children’s Hospital helps change the lives of kids from coast to coast—and around the world. That’s why we’re partnering with America’s largest pediatric hospital and research center again this spring. And this time, we got our girls from Pretty BIG Movement and their dance moves in on the action. Here, meet a few of the kids and find out how to donate—together, we can make a real difference.

Nationwide Children's Hospital

Meet Allie Age 13

You would think that when Allie was diagnosed with leukemia at age 9, it would have affected her sweet, creative  personality. Instead, she spent her days at Nationwide Children’s telling nurses, doctors and other patients about her love of monkeys—with a smile on her face. Today, she wants to be an actress and just starred in her school play.

Meet Sydney Age 11

Sydney's always been full of energy—she loves soccer, track and spending time with her friends—and, thankfully, that hasn't stopped since she started visiting Nationwide Children’s. A routine check-up revealed Sydney's bone growth had stopped when she was about 8 years old, and testing revealed a blood deficiency that Nationwide Children’s continues to monitor.

Meet Gwen Age 11

Gwen was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder, propionic acidemia, in the Nationwide Children’s NICU at just two days old. Because her body can’t process food without causing life-threatening damage, she’s fed via tube using a formula Nationwide Children’s calculates. With that under control, she loves singing, swimming and her Brownie troop.

Meet Ally Age 9

When Ally was born with a cleft lip, her parents took her to Nationwide Children’s to help with feedings and, at four months, her first surgery. She still has a few in her future, but outside of that, she's an energetic little girl who loves singing, dancing and softball.

Meet Makaila Age 8

Nationwide Children’s began the plan to treat Makaila as soon as her mom, Mindi, found out her unborn baby had spina bifida. Makaila’s gone through countless surgeries and still has regular check-ins, but today she’s more concerned about what song she’s going to sing next.
