The pant shape and size were great. As was the flare on them. BUT they are very high waisted. Doesn't look so great when you can see the waist of your pant through your shirt at the belly button level, or higher.

I got these pants to wear to work because this is the only place I can find talls and I like how they fit but they fall apart way to easy. When I pay $60 for a pair of pants I expect them to last but i find myself replacing these every few months, the quality is just not good. The hem has come out in every pair that I have owned and the stitching starts to come undone too.

Pants with proportions!

I am a textbook apple shape and have the hardest time finding waist-high pants; 99% of the time my belly is cut in half while the butt and thighs of the pants flap in the wind. NOT flattering. But, this pair has brought me back from the dark side of sweats, yoga pants, and low-rise (under-gut) jeans that don't stay on and can't work a job interview.
In an 18P they fit my high 44" waist and nearby 48" hips comfortably, though not perfectly - the butt and thighs could be tighter, which might help keep the hem off the floor since my 5'1" frame cannot. The extra room on my backside might look a little funny to anyone looking, but they move well with me and I love finally having pants that stay on by themselves. No more hiking my pants up every two steps, and no more blushing as I run for a train (and possibly lose my shorts in the process!).
If you have a case of "belly, not butt" then these might be the pants for you.
I have to say though that Lane Bryant size charts are terrible - I was looking at clothes online and had myself measured (by me and by others, several times over for accuracy) at a 26 pant and 22 shirt. When I went into the store the girl on the floor pegged me correctly for a 14 top and 18 bottom without so much as a second glance. What's with the crazy measurements online?

Crazy high waist!

What is UP with the rise/waist of these pants?! I have been wearing the Lafayette style flared pants from LB for about 8 years. I bought a pair of these recently, noticing they were slightly different online, in a petite length. The pants themselves are fine - i like the crease in the lower have of the leg, the flare is great...but the waist is insanely high on these pants. Like, it ends about 3" shy of my bustline. Definitely not buying another pair and will have to visit the store to see if my pair is a fluke or just the way they are cut nowadays.
